What you can do is pick pocket the fusion core from the NPC, which will force them to get out of the power armor. It is also possible to damage the fusion core while the NPC is wearing the armor, which will force them to vacate the suit as well.Maybe try exiting after doing the following: -Fast travelling. -Going inside a building (a door with a loading screen) -Jumping off a building and smashing the ground. -Running into water. -Sitting on a bench. -Using a water pump. -Upgrading in a power armor station. -Keep holding down the X button for a couple minutes.Talk to the companion.
