Here is a list of things I have done to regain connection to steam: 1.)bypassed router. 2.)checked fire walls and allowed access to all systems. 3.)uninstalled systems iobit and avg. 4.) deleted steam and reinstalled. 5.)deleted all but .exe files and then tried to reinstall. 6.) followed a couple of ways to try and do it from help and tips board.DHCP is frequently used to automatically obtain an IP Address.
