So, it should have a Mod. 15-? stamp inside the yoke in front of the cylinder. If it is a CM, it will have either a 2" or 4" barrel with adjustable rear sight and ramped front sight. The -7 and -8 have always confused me. I have seen no definitive descrpiption of either one other than -7 was two piece barrel and -8 was slab side barrel. Both don't hold true when looking at examples online that appear to be same as a -6. Maybe someone with more knowledge of the 629 will chime in.
